As students read and write poetry, fiction, essays, screenplays and multimedia texts they foster skills in language, narrative and creativity that can be applied beyond the given form and beyond the classroom.

Students will be encouraged to develop their writer's eye, to keep a writing journal, and to make disciplined and inventive use of the revision process.

Whether you are interested in writing novels, or writing for TV and film, or theatre, radio, or copywriting or blogs, there are many practical exercises which can help you find your voice and develop and hone your skills. This course focuses far more on creativity than academia. ) However, the course is perhaps not best suited for anyone with only a basic level of the English language.

On top of discussions and individual and group exercises in class, you will be encouraged to write at home and to share your work with the group to gain feedback should you wish.

You will learn the five common traps that beginner writers fall into.

As you progress you will begin to discover your own authentic voice.
